Excursion day with donkeys on etna park with barbecue at Timpa rossa shelter

• Departure from our base camp, Piano Provenzana Etna Nord, Linguaglossa (maximum 9:30).
  Our guests may ride our donkeys only in exceptional cases, because our donkeys will need to carry our backpacks, water, food…
• The first section of this itinerary, around a kilometer, will be uphill, not very hard since it is on rail path.
• We will cross and visit an area called "bottoniera" (row of buttons), which was "theatre" of an eruption in 2002 with very spectacular craters and eruptive source.
• We will continue across old and recent lava flows (1923) with a visible crater (Monte Nero) and we will immerse in a beech forest where we will find our Timpa ROSSA shelter.
  
  

We organize the following menu:
- chickpeas soup;
- grilled sausage;
- typical Sicilian products (olives, cheese, sun dried tomatoes...)
After lunch, we continue our excursion on a gently downhill path.
Excursion finishes at 18.30 at Ragabo shelter.

Path length: 4,5 km
Elevation gap: from 1800 to 2200 and to 1400 meters above sea level;
