Trekking with donkeys (carrying bags) and overnight at santa maria shelter

Departure from our base camp, Piano Provenzana Etna Nord, maximum at 10.00.
Our guests may ride our donkeys only in exceptional cases, because our donkeys will need to carry our backpacks, water, food...
ITINERARY:
- climb and visit the 2002 eruption craters, as well as craters from 1923 and 1911, in a very interesting and spectacular landscape.
- Packed lunch at Timpa ROSSA shelter located within a thick beech forest.
- Continue our hike until "Santamaria" shelter where we will camp overnight.
- Overnight in sleeping bag within a tent or in shelter (to be agreed upon).
- Please note that the shelter has neither toilette nor beds.
- A hot meal and other things for dinner will conclude our day.
- The following day, we continue our hike: along the path we will visit some volcanic grottos (grotto of raspberries) and packed lunch at Monte Rossello.
- We will not walk back the same way, but we will conclude at Ragabo shelter, where we predict we would arrive at approximately 6.00 pm.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPPING: hiking boots, windjacket (we will be as high as 2000 mt), pocket rain jacket and front torch, sleeping bags and tent (to be agreed upon).
FOOD SERVICE is arranged by our organization and includes:
- packed lunches with salads and typical local products;
- dinner: hot meal, chickpeas soup, mixed grill and Sicilian style grilled vegetables, wine, Coke and grappa
- classic Italian breakfast: coffee, milk, etc.
